Demetra Maheras is a designer from Boston, Massachusetts who graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2017 with a BFA in Fibers and Concentrations in both Experimental Fashion as well as in Illustration.
Her work is centered on her interest in creating patterns and garments. Combining this with her interest in experimenting with material and color, Demetra strives to create fun and engaging patterns and garments that can be viable products for the marketplace. She accomplishes this by creating her own digitally printed patterns, as well as designing, fabricating and producing her own garments and accessories which utilize these patterns.
Demetra has gained industry experience as an Assistant Product Development Manager at Talbots. She worked specifically within their Outlet division to assist in the design and development of woven tops, pants, denim, dresses, shorts, skirts, and jackets. Additionally, Demetra also gained experience as a Product Development Design Assistant at the TJX Companies; working in the Children’s Playwear department where she assisted in the development of three and four piece sets for infants and toddlers.
